Horsinalities 101

Animal assisted programs recognize the bond between humans and horses and the potential for emotional healing when the two create a bond.

Horse Rescue

We have rescued, rehabilitated and placed several horses that were abused, neglected, or headed for slaughter.  These horses are now thriving thanks to the dedication of CVMR’s members and friends.

Horse Rescue

A one year old colt Buckskin arrived at the Coachella Valley Horse Rescue ranch on September 05,2015. He is settling in quite well at our ranch after a long haul from Fallon Nevada. He was out bided and saved from being purchased by kill buyers who wanted to profit by sending horses to slaughter. He was given a second chance on life!

Scouting Programs

Local Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops have completed and are currently working on several projects at our Ranch.  This enables them to fulfill the requirements and obtain their badges.

LET'S SAVE A HORSE TODAY!

  • LET'S SAVE A HORSE TODAY! Dave DiMeno
  • People come and go but horses leave hoof prints on your heart.
  • When people say it’s JUST a horse, they JUST don’t understand…
  • If you haven’t fallen off a horse…then you haven’t been ridin long enough.
  • My favorite breed is RESCUE.
  • I've often said there's nothing better for the inside of a man than the outside of a horse.

  • Will is to grace as the horse is to the rider.
  • Horse sense is the thing a horse has which keeps it from betting on people.

CVHR Sanctuary program ~ Miniature Horses

Coachella Valley Horse Rescue

Great news!!! Rose our little mini rescue was adopted

12/20/2015 to a loving forever home.

Our rescued little miniature horses, Oreo Cookie, Momma Maddy and baby June Bug.

Oreo Cookie, Momma Maddy, and Baby June Bug —The extra-small equines arrived at the ranch in Jan, 2013 after a woman who had rescued them from a slaughterhouse auction in February 2012 was unable to continue to care for them.  After she adopted Maddy she soon found out that she adopted a pregnant miniature horse.  Four months later the little tan horse with blonde hair Momma Maddy had baby June bug.  Momma Maddy was very shy and skittish when she arrived, but after work with the daily friends today Momma Maddy, now stands still and calm while putting a halter on for her daily walks and adventures.
Baby June bug was born June 2013 and is so cute!  Little Oreo Cookie was born in 2010 and she is a little ham and loves to entertain everyone.
These three little lives were rescued not once, but twice!
The minis are getting lots of tender loving care and learning the ropes on the Indio ranch.
The 2 older horses hadn’t had their hooves trimmed for about seven months when they arrived, and baby June had never had them trimmed, but they all received fresh “pedicures” soon after their arrival.
They’re so excited to have love and attention. “They are therapy for children, adults and seniors every day!
